Alt. Spelling: LIZER
Maryland > Ohio Another sparse line, with only weak sources. Any more about these people would be appreciated. 1. Mathias LEISER.(1) Married Catherine (__).(1) Mathias and Catherine had at least one child: [more probable]
A possible match found during a search for Mathias comes in a Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s found during a search at ancestry.com. In 1765, a Mathias Leiser immigrated to Maryland. (Original Source Bibliography: WYAND, JEFFREY A., and FLORENCE LEONE WYAND. Colonial Maryland Naturalizations. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1975. 104p. Repr. 1986. Page: 58).
Another search at ancestry.com revealed a grouping of LEISERs living in Elizabeth Hundred, Fredrick Co., Maryland at the time of a 1776 Maryland Colonial Cenus. The were (First name, Age): Adam, 17; Cathrin, 38, Cathrin, 7, Christianna, 4; George, 12; Henry, 3 mos.; Margret, 9; Mathias, 51; Peter, 6; Susanna, 3; William, 14. Seems like a likely match for a family grouping.
